Today’s Gospel lesson comes from the Book of Luke 24:13-35. It details the story, when two disciples met the risen Christ on Easter Sunday while on the road to Emmaus. They did not recognize or realize that it was Jesus as they discussed their despair. Jesus explains scripture to them, and it is not until he breaks bread with them that they recognize him. He then vanishes and they immediately return to Jerusalem to share the news with the other disciples. We hope you will join us for today’s worship service.
